History

FH KNIVES started in 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal, with the goal of creating a brand that would bring traditional craftsmanship to your doorstep at reasonable prices. Later on, this legacy was carried forward by a prestigious knife manufacturer with a rich background in knife making, spanning three generations of a family of skilled craftsmen. As the company expanded internationally, FH KNIVES relocated its headquarters to the United States to better serve its growing customer base.

We craft high-quality knives using premium materials such as Damascus steel, D2 steel, stainless steel, and high-carbon steel. Our mission is to create strong, reliable, and uniquely designed knives that customers love and trust.

Since its launch, FH KNIVES has sold over 300,000+ knives worldwide and is now available at 600+ retailers across the United States. This international success reflects our passion for creating exceptional knives and our commitment to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

THERE WAS NEVER A GOOD KNIFE MADE OF BAD STEEL.

    280+ Layers Damascus Steel

Damascus steel has been admired for centuries for its distinctive patterns, exceptional strength, and lasting performance. Each blade is created by forging multiple layers of steel together, producing a unique design that makes every knife one of a kind.

At FH KNIVES, Damascus steel is more than a material, it is a tradition. Backed by three generations of knife-making expertise, our skilled craftsmen combine traditional forging techniques with modern manufacturing standards to create beautiful, high-performance blades.

What makes our Damascus knives truly special is our ability to offer premium craftsmanship at an accessible price. With an experienced workforce and efficient production capabilities, we can produce high-quality Damascus steel knives without the premium price tag, making this timeless craftsmanship available to customers around the world.

      The Process

      Forging

After cutting the steel into the blade's shape, it's heated until malleable, allowing the blacksmith to shape the blade precisely by striking one side to form an edge. This is followed by quenching: heating the steel to a high temperature and cooling it rapidly to increase the blade's hardness and durability.

      Grinding

The blade is refined and smoothed. Using grinding tools, the blacksmith carefully thins the edge and polishes the surface. This process removes any imperfections and prepares the blade for sharpening.

      Sharpening

The blade is honed with increasing precision on a series of stones or belts. The edge is worked until it reaches a razor-sharp finish, ensuring it performs excellently in cutting tasks.

      Handling

The handling stage highlights the knife's full tang construction, a design where the blade's metal extends throughout the handle. This feature guarantees superior balance, strength, and durability. We choose premium wood for the handle, shaping them to fit comfortably in the hand while enhancing the knife's aesthetic.

      Quality Control

Each knife undergoes a rigorous quality control process. It is inspected for any flaws in the blade or handle. The balance, sharpness, and overall craftsmanship are thoroughly checked to ensure that each knife meets our high standards of excellence.
